I. Water conservation, starting from "small things"
 
1. Control the water flow from tap water when washing your hands or other things, do not keep the water running; save water as much as possible and do not use hot water to wash things;
 
Do not wash the mop using strong water flow; close the tap when not using water, check if the tap is leaking, call the maintenance if necessary; close the tap that is dripping water. If a tap is dripping, 200 ml of water is wasted in 15 min, that is 20 l water a day and 7 tons water a year.

2. Try putting a brick in the water tank. Install and use water saving equipment or sanitary wares in houses and office buildings to better save water resources. For example, replace the spiral elevating steel nozzle with ceramic core sealed nozzle, and replace the over 9L volume toilet water tank with 6L volume. If the currently using non-water saving toilet is not planned to be replaced, you can put a brick or a bottle of water in the tank to reduce the water volume used.

If an air conditioner is set at 27 °C, a total of 22 kwh electricity will be saved a year, and 21kg CO2 emission will be reduced. If 150 million air conditioners over the country are set at 27 °C, a total of 3.3 billion kwh electricity will be saved a year, and 3.17 million tons of CO2 emission will be reduced. Health care specialists believe that the most comfortable indoor temperature is 27 to 28 °C with the relative humidity of 40% to 60%.

III. Taking Escalator to One Floor = 25 Hours of Light On
 
It is measured that every time the normal escalator is started the power consumption is 1 kwh. If the escalator idles for one hour, the power consumption is 8 kwh. In other words, if you choose to take the escalator from the first floor to the second, the power consumption is equivalent to 25 hours of light on in your house. The power consumption calculation of escalator includes 3 parts: starting and stopping, running, and being static. The escalator reaches peak power consumption level when starting and stopping, and consumes only few power when static.
 
IV. Computer under Standby Mode Saving More Power
 
Is the power consumption of computer at the lowest when the screensaver is on? No, but the standby mode is. Comparing to screensaver mode, one desktop computer can save 6.3 kwh and reduce 6kg of CO2 emission each year under standby mode; a laptop can save 1.5 kwh and reduce 1.4kg of CO2 emission each year. If 77 million computers in the country are subject to this measure, a total of 450 million kwh electricity will be saved a year, and 430 thousand tons of CO2 emission will be reduced.

V. Lighting Facility
 
Power saving can start from the small things. No light is left on; the number of lights is reasonable; use advanced lighting technology such as solar lamps and electrodeless lamps; apply automatic control equipment, such as sound control, light control, and time control, on lamps at corridors, hallways, yards, toilets, and other public areas; turn off the landscape lamps and decorative lamps half hour earlier; turn off the office lights during the noon break.

VI. Travel 200km in an Energy Saving Way
 
Cycling or walking instead of driving to travel 100 km can save about 9L of gasoline; taking the bus instead of driving the car to travel 100 km can save about five sixths of gasoline. Travel 200km in an energy saving way, the gasoline consumption can be reduced by 16.7L and the CO2 emission can be reduced by 36.8kg each person. If 12.48 million private cars are subject to this measure, the gasoline consumption can be reduced by 210 million liters and the CO2 emission can be reduced by 460 thousand tons a year.
 
VII. Use the Refrigerator in an Energy Saving Way
 
1. Choose Energy-saving Refrigerator
 
One energy-saving refrigerator consumes 100 kwh less electricity than normal refrigerator, and the CO2 emission can be reduced by 100kg. If 14.27 million newly-sold refrigerators are energy-saving type, the annual power saving will be 1.47 billion kwh, and the CO2 emission reduction will be 1.41 million tons a year.
 
2. Use Refrigerators in a Good Way
 
If running time is reduced by 3 min every day, 30 kwh will be saved, and 30kg of CO2 emission will be reduced; if a refrigerator is defrosted timely, 184 kwh will be saved, and 177kg of CO2 emission will be reduced. If all 150 million refrigerators are subject to this measure, the annual power saving will be 7.38 billion kwh, and the CO2 emission reduction will be 7.08 million tons.
